'Riverbank, Tissington Trail, Ashbourne'
I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and studied art with my first inspirational teacher Derek Robson. I studied printmaking and photography at S. Katherine's College in Liverpool. My passion for art and painting remained throughout a successful career in education in Staffordshire and later in Wolverhampton as a teacher, Headteacher and Local Authority Inspector.
Following my retirement, I attended workshops led by Lewis Noble in Derbyshire. Inspired by his work I began to sketch and paint in the Peak District on a regular basis. Within a couple of years my work was being displayed in galleries in the Midlands and I have established a working studio in the Craft Centre in Curborough, Lichfield where I live.
