ABOUT THE ARTISTS

COLIN CLARK

Colin Clark Artwork

Colin Clark’s practice bridges fine art and illustration and focuses on features in the wild and urban landscape that suggest stories that allow the viewer to invest themselves in the work. Painting in highly textured and colourful oils as well as watercolour, pen and Ink the work the aim is to show the beauty, magic and mystical quality of the landscape that surrounds us as well as the often warmly comical way that we view the creatures in our gardens.

Colin was born in Dundee, Scotland in 1963 but has lived and worked in the Cotswolds all his life. He studied Silversmithing and Jewellery design in the 1980s working as a goldsmith for 20 years before training in a therapy practice then moving to painting and illustration work after studying for an MA in Illustration at the University of Gloucestershire, graduating in 2021.

STEVE ROBERTS

Steve Roberts Artwork

Steve Roberts’ artistic practice is concerned with expressing the continual changes of colour and atmosphere found within rural and urban landscapes. Working in a semi-abstract treatment, Steve’s oil paintings utilise bold colour combinations, varied textures and dynamic forms to create works inspired by the transient and multi-sensory experience of place.

Steve was born in Cheltenham in 1991 where he now lives
and works. He studied painting at the Cardiff School of Art
from 2009-2012 and later went on to complete an MA in
Illustration from the University of Gloucestershire where
he graduated in 2021.
