Jaci Hogan -
I’ve been painting professionally for over 30 years, mostly here in the UK following a move from my native Queensland in Australia to the cooler climes of a 30 acre lake in South Gloucestershire. I produce almost all of my work in acrylics which helps to create strong and vibrant colours.
I found initial commercial success with my range of Vessels paintings which were shown and sold at various galleries. I believe that greater success, and enjoyment, has come from producing a wide range of flower paintings where I like to come off the canvas and make bold statements. I’ve loved exhibiting every year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show since 2004 where I get to meet so many customers and find new, challenging commissions.
I try to constantly add to my original designs to produce a range of greetings cards and home ware items that now include a selection of T-Towels, table mats, trays, platters and coasters. I hope you agree that they all make wonderful gifts. I’m also proud to source everything from UK suppliers.
I think that most of all, I love to work on commissions. I’m fortunate to have work dotted around the globe but it’s the UK where most of my work is hanging on the walls of customers, many of whom have become friends. I love the whole journey of working with someone to create exactly what they can see and want in their home.
Alison Holt -
Alison Holt, a UK contemporary textile artist with a Fine Art Embroidery BA Hons degree from Goldsmiths College, London, specialising in freehand machine embroidery.
Using a basic Bernina sewing machine and just 2 stitches, straight stitch and zig-zag I make embroidered pictures of landscapes, seascapes, flowers and garden scenes, influenced by the Shropshire Wales border near Oswestry where I live and by my travels.
Alongside the 5 books on my style of threadpainting and an educational DVD, Creative Machine Embroidery, I offer a range of textile courses, workshops, demonstrations and lectures in the UK and abroad.
I work to commission and have experience of exhibiting regularly at the Chelsea Flower Show and other venues in the UK, France and Australia.
